Dr. R. Antonio Portela completed his undergraduate training at the University of Florida where he graduated Cum Laude, receiving his bachelors degree in Business Management. He then went on to receive his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine. He remained at Penn State for his residency training in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery. He served as chief resident during his last year.

Dr. Portela specializes in general pediatric otolaryngology. His special interests include the management of pediatric sleep disordered breathing, surgical management of upper airway obstruction, recurrent ear infections, hearing loss, chronic nasal congestion and chronic sinus disorders.

Dr. Portela is Board Certified by the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery.
