As a board-certified otolaryngologist, Dr. Matthew Connor provides patients in Southwest Florida with comprehensive and compassionate ear, nose and throat care.

He specializes in sinus surgery, minimally invasive techniques, allergy testing and treatment, diseases of the ear, hearing aids, nasal congestion, nasal deformities, throat disorders, voice and swallowing disorders, snoring and sleep apnea, thyroid surgery, head and neck surgery, and pediatric ear, nose and throat problems. Dr. Connor also performs the Inspire® surgery, also known as upper airway stimulation, a treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA).

An accomplished head and neck surgeon, Dr. Connor  received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. Next, he obtained his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine, finishing at the top of his class with honors and graduating magna cum laude. Dr. Connor completed his residency training at the prestigious San Antonio Military Medical Center, and then went on to serve for nine years in the United States Air Force.

First stationed in San Antonio, Dr. Connor soon headed to the United Kingdom, where he held an assistant professorship at the University of Cambridge. He worked both at the Lakenheath Air Force Base and at the National Health Service, training young surgeons and medical students. Dr. Connor was honorably discharged as a Major and holds very fond memories of his service – and the utmost respect for men and women in uniform.

Dr. Connor  has authored multiple publications and book chapters on thyroid cancer, head and neck trauma, pediatric airway, sleep apnea and sinusitis management. In his downtime, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three girls. Dr. Connor is also passionate about history, travel and a good game of golf.
