Dr. Ashley Wellons received her Doctor of Audiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015, where she also graduated with highest distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies in 2011.

While obtaining her doctorate, Dr. Wellons served as Co-President for UNC’s Student Academy of Audiology and was selected to be a trainee in the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities (LEND) program. As a trainee she received additional education and experience in working with special populations and as part of a multidisciplinary team. During her 4th year externship, Dr. Wellons worked in educational audiology in North Carolina, where she had the opportunity to work with children in pre-school through high school.

Dr. Wellons is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and has her Certification of Clinical Competence from the American-Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

Dr. Wellons’ areas of expertise include:

• Diagnostic testing for pediatric, adult and special needs populations
• Selection and fitting of amplification for pediatrics, adults and special needs populations
• Counseling on hearing loss and hearing aids, aural rehabilitation and patient advocacy
